Learn Tajweed Online with a Certified Teacher
Tajweed is the set of rules for reciting the Quran as it was revealed: how each letter is pronounced and how letters affect one another. Books and videos explain the rules, but only a teacher listening to you can tell you what you are getting wrong. That is what our live one-to-one Tajweed classes are for.
Our teachers explain everything in English (or French), so you do not need to speak Arabic to start.
What you will work on
- Makharij: the correct articulation point of every Arabic letter.
- Sifaat: the qualities of letters, such as heaviness and lightness.
- Rules: Noon Saakin and Tanween, Meem Saakin, Madd (elongation), Qalqalah, stopping and starting.
- Application: you recite, the teacher corrects every verse on the spot.

Do I need to know Arabic?
You need to be able to read the Quran’s letters. If you can’t yet, start with the Noorani Qaida.
How long until my recitation improves?
It depends on your level, the number of lessons and your practice. Correction starts from the first lesson, because the teacher listens to every verse.
